Wow! I haven't used Inkscape in so long I had to re-teach myself. This is a cute little ladybug that is on one of my 2 year old daughter's sand shovel's and I thought it was so cute! Not to mention that while some kids have imaginary friends she has imaginary LADYBUGS! That's all she talks about and you wouldn't believe the things these ladybugs can get into - LOL!!!

This is the replica of the ladybug on the shovel and the whole time I was designing it my daughter was squealing with joy!!! She cuts beautifully!!!

Teacher's and Bus Driver gifts

I had so much fun making these! Kid's last day of school is tomorrow so I waited last minute, of course! They are the mini paint can's filled with mini peanut butter cups and hershey kisses with little messages on the bottom. Card's will contain gift cards for the teacher's.

Sticky Paper with Glitter Technique

Supplies you'll need: Sticky Paper, Peel Off stickers, Transfer paper, Glitter, Copics (if you choose to color).

Cut around the Peel Off stickers you want to use.
----------------------------------
If you're planning to glitter the entire piece with different colors you'll want to leave the inside pieces of your sticker intact and then cover the sticker with the transfer paper.
----------------------------------
Slowly peel the sticker backing off leaving the Peel Off sticker attached to the Transfer Paper.
---------------------------------
Apply sticker to the Sticky Paper using the Transfer Paper. When peeling up the Transfer Paper you'll want to do this slowly as to not rip off any of the stickiness.
---------------------------------
If you're going to do the entire piece one color than there's no need to leave the inside pieces of the sticker unless you plan on glitter the entire background rather than trimming.
---------------------------------
I'm not going to glitter the background so I went ahead and trimmed around my Peel Off stickers.

For coloring with Copics I like the Cool Highlight glitter. Bought this at a LSS.
--------------------------------
Dump Glitter over your Sticky Paper and push glitter into Sticky Paper. Remove excess Glitter and burnish with finger until you get a very smooth texture (almost like foil).

Make sure all Glitter is burnished and there are no loose grains.

Take the Copic marker and gently flick over your piece where you want color. Flicking at different pressures with give you different results.
-------------------------------
For adding different color Glitter sections you'll want to carefully peel off the inside pieces with tweezers different sections at a time.
-------------------------------
I want my petals all one color so I peeled off all the inside petal pieces.
------------------------------
Dump glitter and burnish with finger till foil like smooth texture.
-----------------------------
Make sure all excess Glitter is off.
-----------------------------

Repeat with remaining sections.

How I store my Twine

Twine is too pretty to just store away so no one can see! I store my twine on little wooden spools that can hold approx 12 yds and then put them on spool holders. I also store my seam binding ribbon and silk ribbon like this too.

Divine Twine and Trendy Twine and Timeless Twine OH MY!

Wowy! I'll be getting about 220 yards (10 yds each of 22 different kinds) of Twine in the mail over the next week! I participated in a couple Twine Shares (Trendy Twine and Timeless Twine) on the Cricut Messageboard for a steal ($8.75 for 10yds each of 11 different twines) and then I won 110 yds of Divine Twine (10 yds each of 11 different twines) on Ebay for $7.50! So excited! I love twine, can you tell?????

And well what's a girl to do about storing all this Twine? I can't simply put it in a box and hide it away! NO! Twine is beatiful and needs to be displayed properly! So I found these cute wooden spools on Etsy and ordered 50 of them! Each spool can hold 10 yds of 4 ply twine and the extra spools will hold most of my seam binding! So stinkin' EXCITED!

I have no new crafts today to share. Hoping to get something done tomorrow. Gotta RUN - literally. On my way out to run trails with my husband and his running buddy in 91 degree weather. Just call me CRAZY! There's a race I want to run a good time in on Father's day so I got to get some good runs in.

A New Layout

Here is the layout I finished today. I used a sketch this time because I was just drawing a blank (sketch from Allison Davis). I kept it simple and added quite a bit of sewing to it even though my machine was acting up and my stitches aren't perfect - oh well. I used Inkscape to form my text in a circle and then cut it out with my MS circle cutter.

The pictures are of my younger son getting his ear pierced. His older brother has his done and he insisted through the tears. We had to have it done at a tattoo/piercing shop with an actual needle because he has extremely sensitive skin and needed special earrings.

2011 Calendar

I use the top portion of the hanging calendar for photos of things that happened that month so pictures don't go on till the end of the month which is why June has an empty top. I ink around the edges of the top portion to match the calendar for that month and then once the pictures are on I add little captions so that when I look back years later I know what was going on.

My Crafting Room

Yay! I have my own crafting room, not just an area! This was originally my oldest son's bedroom that is on our downstairs level however he decided that he wanted to be upstairs with his brother so he moved out and I gladly moved in! I had a nice set up before that was just outside this room but I love actually having a room with a door. I won't bore you with the specifics of each picture as I think they are pretty self explanitory. Enjoy.

I did this layout last night. It was designed on my Gypsy - I love my Gypsy! I knew exactly what I wanted to do with these pictures and I'm so thrilled with the way it turned out! Cricut Carts used were Life's a Beach and Doodlecharms (for the sun). I love the paper I used for the Mermaid - it's so shiny!

It's been so long and I do apologize. The end of the year is always so stinkin busy around here and I always have good intentions of updating my site but the time just isn't there. Is it just me or is Christmas coming incredibly fast for everyone??? OMGosh! We are what, 6 weeks away??? I'm trying to start on Christmas gifts but finding the time has been so hard!

I'm making mini albums for the great grandparents, the kids picture ornaments for the grandparents and gift swaps. Not to mention I still haven't started my Christmas cards. I'm so behind this year. Although I have started many projects it's just getting the time to finish them. I'll be sure to post pictures this weekend of what I'm doing right now.

My husband is going out of state for the entire weekend to run in the Harrisburg Marathon on Sunday so I'll be here with the 3 kiddos which means much won't get done.

When Provo Craft was having their Gypsy promotion with registering before 10/31 and getting 6 free carts my dear sweet husband went out and bought me one!
When the Gypsy first came out I had no interest because I don't ever really go anywhere but when the above mentioned promotion came out and I really starting looking at them I found that it might actually be a useful tool. I was talking to my husband, Brian, about it and he said that I should look into getting one. I knew that Michaels was having a sale. I toyed with it for a couple days and decided against getting it. Then on Halloween, the last day to register, Brian came downstairs and said that he really wanted to buy it for me. I called Michaels and they had one left that they said they'd hold for me. Even though company was on the way Brian jumped in the car and made the trip and bought it for me:) I registered it in time and LOVE the Smiley cart that came with it! After playing with the Gypsy I'm so glad that he bought it!!! It's so much fun to play with and so much easier to use than the design software!

How I store my scrap paper.

They are in the folders individually by color.

These 2 bins hold paper punches and Trimmers.

2 black bins hold loose paper, vellum and trasparencies.

Ribbon Holder I made. Every so often I have to alter it when I get more ribbon. I just altered it this weekend so that there was room for boat loads more ribbon! Underneath is where I store my embossing powders (I store them in the rectangular plastic baby food containers!).

This area holds stamps, inks, Tim Holtz stuff, Cuttlebug folders and dies, markers and prisma pencils, envelopes, bling etc.

Out of the picture above is where I store my stickles, sizzix, bind it all, sewing machine, magazines etc.

2 large white towers hold Paper Packs, Copics, Albums and other misc. items.

All my cards safe in their plastic sleeves! I have so many yet I won't send them out cause I'm afriad the recipients won't appreciate all the work that went into them so here they sit tucked away safely.

Double layout

I've been making so many cards this year I haven't had much time to scrapbook and am so backed up! I did this double page quick layout this past week. Nothing fancy but wanted to get something done. I have to get back into my scrapbooking. I've spent so much time making cards that I've forgotten how to scrapbook, I know that sounds funny but it's so true!

File Folder Card using Bleach

This is probably one of my favorite cards. When I started I didn't know where I was going with it. I found the flower stamp in the $1 bin at Joannes. I knew that it would be perfect for stamping with bleach so when I got home I prepared everything and stamped the image multiple times on yellow cardstock just playing with it. I loved it! So then I stamped and embossed the image in black on the same color card stock and this time I took my blender pen and brushed the bleach over the open area in the flower. Loved it again! So now I had these 2 images and wanted to use them so I started putting things together and ended up making a file folder card! I sewed around the edges on the front to hold my background paper in place. I popped up the main flower and added a little brown ribbon. For the inside piece I stamped the image in brown and again sewed around the edges to mimic the front. I also distressed and scuffed the edges of the main layer of cardstock. I then took the stamp again and created the envelope so that it would match the card. I so love the way this card turned out!!!!!

Thinking of You

Masked off a circle on front of card and used SU! Ink for the moon, inked a little orange around the edges too. Then added some iridescent medium to make is shine. I stamped the main image in black ink added the sentiment and called it a day. Simple but so very pretty!

Top Note Die

For this I used random patterened paper I had left over. I adhered it to a peice of cardstock then ran it through my sizzix using the Top Note die from SU!. Added patterned paper to the edge and used a scalloped border punch. The letters are just fabric stickers I had lying around.

Using negative image

For this card I used what was left from the previous card after using the Top Note Die cut form SU! I added a fabric flower from Basic Grey, used ribbon that I knotted for the stem and the leaves are canvas that I painted green with a paint dabber and then ran through my crimper! I didn't want the negative cut to go to waste cause it was so pretty!

Embossed and Distressed

I embossed my main image and then went over the entire piece with broken china distress ink. I went over the edges with vintage photo distress ink and stamped my sentiment. Simple and quick card!

For this card I just stamped a with a floral background stamp. I colored what I wanted with my glaze pens. I then stamped the image on another piece over a sentiment that I stamped first (I just masked it before I restamped the background) and cut out just a portion of the image, dolled it up a bit and then popped it up over the original stamped image on my main card.

Pumpkin Card

Pumpkin Card! I used my crimper to crimp my paper diagonally from the corners. Saw this originally on Spilt Coast Stampers site but changed it up just a bit. My pumpkin is made from 3 ovals - the center oval popped up - and all three peices are flocked. Used Ribbon for the stem and a little green wire for the leaves.

My niece is having a little girl in December so I made this card for when she's born. The giraffe is from Create a Critter Cricut Cart. I fanfolded a piece of cardstock and added the sentiment on top. Ribbon is from SU!

Potted Flower card

Used SU! markers to color the image in then stamped it. I added a little iridescent medium to the flowers and pot for added sparkle. Inked the edges and tore the inside card layer for a more rough look.

Scraplifted this idea from the Cricut Messageboard! It's more complicated than it looks :LOL:. Cut all the squares out and then some were cut even smaller for more interesting look. It's took quite some time to put it all together.

Using $1 stamps from Michaels I created this fun card. The envelope was stamped 3 times and layed for dimension.

Embossed Cards

For the first card I used all stamps made by Wendy Vecchi. I stamped and embossed the flower and swirls and then pop dotted them up. I stitched on a piece of ribbon then gathered it and adhered it to the card.

The second card was stamped and embossed using an embossing powder that appears distressed. I love it!

On the third card I used a CTMH stamp set stamping all the girls but one is black then embossing over them with clear. The sentiment is a stamp from the $1 bin at Michaels.

Microbead Cards

I stamped the main image and then cut is out with a nestabilities die. I then added a sheet of double sided adhesive to the image and poured microbeads over it. I heated it slightly with my heatgun to set the beads. It add just a little extra something.

Perfect Pearls background

I stamped the background stamp in vesamark on silver paper and then wnet over it with my silver perfect pearls. After setting it with finishing spray I added the sentiment. This card is gorgeous in person but I couldn't capture it well with the camera.

Flocked Cards

I used flock on all these cards. The flock was adhered down using Stamp and Bond embossing powder. I just love the texture of these images. The sentiment on the bear card I just printed off my computer.

Copic Colored Card

I worked on this card for so long yesterday and I absolutely love the way it came out! I colored the girl and bench with Copic markers. I originally just started coloring her to practice blending reds and blacks because they are suppose to be 2 of the hardest colors to blend and when I was done I was so happy with her I just had to use her on a card! I cut an oval in the base of the card with my coluzzle and stamped the sunrays with a Tim Holtz stamp using Wild Honey and Marmelade distressing inks, sprayed it with a little Perfect Pearls for shininess and stamped. The flowers are from a MS punch painted with Iridescent Medium and stickles in the center. The grass on the side of the bench was cut with Create A Critter. I also inked the edges and painted on some Iridescent Medium on top of that.

Magical Marquee Scratch and Sniff Card

This is the coolest card! Not only are the cherries inside scratch and sniff but when you open the card the curtains move and reveal them! The card was made from a tutorial I found HERE. It looks like an easy card to make but getting everything lined up perfectly is a pain but oh so worth it in the end! The scratch and sniff is made by combining black cherry koolaid powder and clear embossing powder.

Happy Birthday Stair Step Card

Love love love this card! The front cupcake border is from a new EK Success punch - isn't it adorable??? I added red stickles for the cherries. The center punch out is also a new EK Success - I added paper and vellum behind the cut outs and added some of the same paper at the bottom part of that stair, also added yellow stickles to the candle flames. The back is just a circle that I cut with my coluzzle. The happy birthday was printed on my pc and I cut the letters and adhered them to the back of the circle. The balloons were cut with Stretch Your Imagination and I attached them with orange and yellow wire. The orange circle in front of the yellow one is used to hid the tag for the TO: and From: for when the card is given. The tag was made with the SU! tag punch

Happy Birthday Swing Card

Background is stamped with a script stamp in Versamark Dazzle. Clock stamp is by Tim Holtz. The sentiment is something I found laying around in my stamp drawer and it worked perfectly with the clock stamp. Added a little ribbon and called it a day.

The main image of the card front was from a page of squares tags I had. I added a flower from Basic Gray. The sentiment is embossed in white. Added a little ribbon, faux stitched with my white pen and punch out the word Thanks using a Martha Stewart border punch.

Ain't she cute?!?!?! This pink Hippo was cut from Create A Critter. I used some Glossy Accents on her to make her flower and ears pop. I just attached her to a mini clothespin and slapped a magnet on the back.

Double Slider Halloween Card

I know I know it isn't Halloween yet but I was cleaning my stamp drawers and found this cute little stamp and just had to use it!!! I colored it in using my blender pen and SU! Inks. Added a little sparkle to the main image too.

Cute Cute Cute! I love this card! I colored in the Magnolia stamp with my Copic Markers. I hadn't used them in quite some time so I'm re-learning but I'm happy with the end result! I stamped the greeting in the bottom right corner and embossed it in white.

Iris Fold Card

Simple Iris Fold Card. The stamp is from SU! Trendy Trees. I used multiple inks on the leaves and once stamped I painted on some iridescent medium to make it sparkle. The tree is actually stamped onthe inside of the card. I drew an uneven frame around the main image, added some hemp twine and a greeting and called it done.

Love Love this card! I distressed the edges of the front of the card and inked them. The butterflies on the inside are from a border punch that I used the negative on and then popped them up. The sentiment is from an Amy R Stamp Collection called Thank You. I used my Oval Coluzzle for the main center cutouts.

Flower card

I used the Big Flower Stamp from SU! with versamark and clear embossing powder on some patterned cardstock which I then cut around. The leaves are the flipside of the paper. I hand cut the leaves and ran them through my crimper giving them a veiny look and then inked over them with distressing ink. The background is Kraft paper stamped with Versamark Dazzle with a script background. The button is from a Martha Stewart punch and I added a little twine. I really like how this turned out - simple but pretty.

Finally things are getting back to normal after the accident. I was able to sit down yesterday and make a few cards that I'll post later today. Brian bought a 1999 VW Golf that we picked up last night so I have my car back!!! I love driving the truck but the thing is so monsteriously huge it's a pain in the butt!

Husband was in a head on crash this morning

A driver coming opposite my husband this morning fell asleep at the wheel and crossed the yellow line. He hit my husband just about head on causing the airbags to deploy. My husbands car spun hitting a telephone pole. The sleeping driver also hit the truck behind my husband causing it to flip over. All cars were totaled but thankfully only minor injuries. It was a scary phonecall from my husband at 6am saying he'd been in a head on crash and to come down there. My neighbor and friend came right over to sit with my kids. This is Brian's car, it's a 1995 mirage with 175,000. My boys were convinced it was a transformer and the fact that my husband walked out of that car with only minor injuries just solidifies that belief. The transformer saved their dad. I took tons of pictures of the crash site. It had one of the main roads closed down for hours. Driving up to the scene was really scary even knowing that Brian was okay. With all the lights and just the sight of all the cars and the shape they were in I'm shocked that no one was seriously hurt and I thank god that Brian didn't drive his motorcycle this morning because the outcome would have been horribly different. Brians back tire and axel were ripped off the car and thrown more than 60 feet into the woods behind him slicing a small tree in half in the process. The back end of the car is in the back seat and part of the back seat is in the front seat. The car filled with smoke but Brian was able to force the door open and get out.

While trying to upload some pictures to my computer my almost 2 year old daughter got bored. When my husband walked in this is how he found Teagan. She had used my brand new Crushed Olive distress ink on her face and then put on the Grungeboard bracelet I had just made. She was quite pleased with herself. Luckily all the ink came off with some soap and water and she hated that I took the bracelet away from her. I snapped a ton of pictures for a scrapbook page and then went ahead and emailed a couple to Tim Holtz. Being that she used all his products I thought he might get a kick out of it. He did email me back thanking me for sharing the pictures with him etc. You'll notice in the second picture she has the bracelet up around her forearm - she's too smart!

Don't mind the smudges on the pictures, as she was laughing she put her hand out and touched the lens but there just was no time to clean it so I continued to snap the pictures.

Grungeboard Bracelets

I made these 2 bracelets using almost only Tim Holtz products! I cut a strip of grungeboard and embossed it with the devine swirls cuttlebug folder. Then I used my paint dabbers on it - First color I laid down was Expresso, I covered the entire piece and then dried it with my heat gun. Next I sanded both sides then laid down the color Lettuce, once I covered the piece I went right over it with a damp paper towel to take all the excess off. Lastly I went over it with the color Pearl lightly and then dried with the heat gun. For the closure I punch a hold and added hitch fasteners (again Tim Holtz). For the flower I used a fabric flower from Basic Greys Capella collection and adhered it with Zip Dry glue.

The idea for this card came from Make A Card Monday. I just used my Cricut to cut the star and then added my ribbon scraps underneath it. Also used Hero Arts Dots background stamp, white signo pen and some embossing. Enjoy!

Three things I love about myself:

Wow, this is a hard one because I am so critical of myself, at least that what my husband says.

1. I love that I can sit down and create a card without having a single image or thought in my head of what I want this card to look like.
2. I love that I take hundreds of pictures a month, sometimes thousands of my kids.
3. I love that I find time to do everything and still have a little extra time for my hobby.

I took this pic yesterday with my phone to send to my husband and 2 boys who are camping up in the Adirondack Mountains for the week, I miss them terribly.

I love this card! The stamps are from Studio G and are called Porcupine Duo. I put lots of pictures cause I added a lot of dimension and bling to the card and it's hard to see from afar.

Just a quick card I put together for no real reason. Used SU! stamp set titled So Very, Hero Arts background stamp and EDPD for the car. Sentiment and background are both embossed with polysparkle embossing powder.

This is my July Calendar. I used Desiners Calendar and my cricut software to create a celander that resembles a flag color wise. I'm happy with the way it turned out! I used the preserves cart for the watermelon and used my scallop punch to create the bite mark in it. The lettering is all the designers calendar cart. I added some stitching around the word summer. The background paper is from Basic Greys new Manilla Basics pack.

A painting my 2 oldest kids did for me a couple years ago. Just using a large canvas and paints.

This is the wall you see as you enter my bedroom. I used vinyl for the quote that is above and below the photos of my kids.

This is a small hanger made by Tim Holtz. I printed out a photo of my kids and attached it to an acrylic square. This is hanging in my main bathroom.

The background of this card consists of patterned paper for the bottom half then I stamped the top half with a glitz distressing stamp in Tattered Rose distress ink. For the tag I used my blending tool to put on some Tattered Rose distress ink then dabbed over with my Pearl Paint Dabber. Added a flourish stamps embossed with clear powder (hard to see). Added ribbon and my sentiment and called it a day. Enjoy.

This card was scraplifted off ScrapTV. Great site with lots of ideas. Used nestibilities for main image. Stamped and colored image, cut with nestibilitie then used my SU! Iridescent Ice over the entire image. I then made a second image and cut out random flowers and sttached them to my main stamped image.

This is a gatefold card. Used SU! paper punches. The metal piece in the top left corner is actually a magnet that can come off and the right flap is perforated so that it can be used as a bookmark. Inked the edges of the patterned paper and added some ribbon and a bow.

This is a card I made for my sons birthday. I ran the top half of the card through my sizzix with a cuttlebug folder. Then I used a wheel from SU! for the bottom half. I dragged my versamark ink over the raised embossed area and used some clear embossing powser for a little something extra. The image is from Dustim Pike and I quikely colored him with my copics, added some glossy accents to the cherry and it's done.

This is a slider card I made for a birthday party we are attending this weekend. I stamped the background with the new Hero Arts Grid stamp in versamark ink on the kraft cardstock. The inside is actually a pocket that can hold money or a giftcard. I used my nestibilities for the top layer. Covering the sentiment with Iridescent Ice from SU!. Added a little ribbon and it's done. I really like how it turned out!

Simple graduation card. Used my coluzzle to cut the circle. On paper underneath I stamps out the word congrats in the circular pattern. Popped up the main background paper and added some ribbon and stitching. Used my Clear Stardust pen on the letters for a little extra sparkle.

For this card I used the new Lacy Labels Cricut Lite Cart. Inked a background on the Brown piece with versamark. Inked all the edges and added a border stamp - I love acrylic stamps cause you can bend them to fit just about any shape! I used Twill Ribbon from SU! and stamped on it with a sentiment stamp. Also added some shimmer with my Clear Stardust pen.

I painted the tag on this card with Silver crackle paint from Tim Holtz, once dry I stamped the sentiment in black Stazon ink. I inked the edges of the card with silver all purpose ink from SU! and also used that on a Glitz Design distressing stamp.

This is my version of the bra and panty card. I found a template online and just printed and cut it out. Used a balck metallic paper for the actual bra and panty and added some pink translucent ribbon to the edges. The stamp on the back is suppose to signify and tattoo but didn't come out quite right, good enough though.

This is a play off of a card I saw at Kwerner Design. I like the hilly type background and I was having such a hard time coming up with some Fathers Day card ideas. Really love how this one turned out!
I used a Tim Holtz Stamp for the Sunrays, inking it will both Wild Honey and Scattered Straw Distress inks and spritzing with Perfect Pearls mist. Then just cut some hills out of various cardstocks. The letters I just printed up on my computer on kraft cardstock and cut.
