2010 Teachers Gift - Magnetic Chalkboard

I am so excited about the teachers gifts I made this year! My oldest son's teacher is a huge Boston Red Sox fan. Firstly I must say that this was not my idea - these came from an oh so talented blogger Greenbean's Crafterole! For this project I used a piece of 12x12 galvanized metal I bought at Lowes that I painted with Chalkboard Paint (3 coats). It's dries very quickly so it didn't take long to complete this project. For the paper portion at the bottom I used a baseball border svg file I found over that the craftedge forums and used my mini pens and holder with my cricut and drew the border. For more info on the pen and marker holders please visit Chomas Creations. Then using the pens again I drew out the baseballs, cut around them, slapped a magnet on the back and voila! So cute!

*Tip - When using the galvanized metal sheet the edges can be sharp. After rounding the edges with my corner chomper I used some inksentials foil tape around all the edges and then painted. No more sharp edges!!!!

Magnetic board. How cute is this?!?!?! Made with a 12x12 piece of galvanized metal I bought at Lowes. The owls were made with SU! Paper puches - a tutorial I found on Youtube. Just used my ATG gun to adhere the paper to the metal.

June 2010 Calendar

This is my June Calendar. I used a variety of carts including Indie Art and Designers Calendar. My husband came up with the idea of the punch bug being a fist, you have to know his humor - he's a goofball. Also used Nestibilities and for the ladybug I used a scallop circle punch.

Creative Post for June 14th

This is the thank you card I made for my oldest sons teacher. I used vellum for the bottom half and embossed it with the new grid stamp from hero arts in white. I used a cute maya road clear ruler stamp, I bent it to follow the shape of the card. The main lettering is from the Robotz cartridge.

I had to make a card for a birthday party my 9yo son was going to. For this card I used the Robotz cartridge and a cute background paper from My Minds Eye.

Creative Post for June 12th

For this card I did a few different things. I took some canvas that I bought at Joanns and ripped off a piece making sure that the edges frayed nicely. Then I painted over it with my blue Tim Holtz paint dabber. It dried very quickly. I went over the blue with my white dabber for some clouds. It's a nice texture in the end. The bird is cut from Home Decor. Nice simple card for today! Enjoy.
