Glitter and Sticky Paper Butterfly

Sticky Paper with Glitter Technique

Supplies you'll need: Sticky Paper, Peel Off stickers, Transfer paper, Glitter, Copics (if you choose to color).

Cut around the Peel Off stickers you want to use.

If you're planning to glitter the entire piece with different colors you'll want to leave the inside pieces of your sticker intact and then cover the sticker with the transfer paper.

Slowly peel the sticker backing off leaving the Peel Off sticker attached to the Transfer Paper.

Apply sticker to the Sticky Paper using the Transfer Paper. When peeling up the Transfer Paper you'll want to do this slowly as to not rip off any of the stickiness.

If you're going to do the entire piece one color than there's no need to leave the inside pieces of the sticker unless you plan on glitter the entire background rather than trimming.

I'm not going to glitter the background so I went ahead and trimmed around my Peel Off stickers.

For coloring with Copics I like the Cool Highlight glitter. Bought this at a LSS.

Dump Glitter over your Sticky Paper and push glitter into Sticky Paper. Remove excess Glitter and burnish with finger until you get a very smooth texture (almost like foil).

Make sure all Glitter is burnished and there are no loose grains.

Take the Copic marker and gently flick over your piece where you want color. Flicking at different pressures with give you different results.

For adding different color Glitter sections you'll want to carefully peel off the inside pieces with tweezers different sections at a time.

I want my petals all one color so I peeled off all the inside petal pieces.

Dump glitter and burnish with finger till foil like smooth texture.

Make sure all excess Glitter is off.

Repeat with remaining sections.

How I store my Twine

Twine is too pretty to just store away so no one can see! I store my twine on little wooden spools that can hold approx 12 yds and then put them on spool holders. I also store my seam binding ribbon and silk ribbon like this too.

Divine Twine and Trendy Twine and Timeless Twine OH MY!

Wowy! I'll be getting about 220 yards (10 yds each of 22 different kinds) of Twine in the mail over the next week! I participated in a couple Twine Shares (Trendy Twine and Timeless Twine) on the Cricut Messageboard for a steal ($8.75 for 10yds each of 11 different twines) and then I won 110 yds of Divine Twine (10 yds each of 11 different twines) on Ebay for $7.50! So excited! I love twine, can you tell?????

And well what's a girl to do about storing all this Twine? I can't simply put it in a box and hide it away! NO! Twine is beatiful and needs to be displayed properly! So I found these cute wooden spools on Etsy and ordered 50 of them! Each spool can hold 10 yds of 4 ply twine and the extra spools will hold most of my seam binding! So stinkin' EXCITED!

I have no new crafts today to share. Hoping to get something done tomorrow. Gotta RUN - literally. On my way out to run trails with my husband and his running buddy in 91 degree weather. Just call me CRAZY! There's a race I want to run a good time in on Father's day so I got to get some good runs in.

A New Layout

Here is the layout I finished today. I used a sketch this time because I was just drawing a blank (sketch from Allison Davis). I kept it simple and added quite a bit of sewing to it even though my machine was acting up and my stitches aren't perfect - oh well. I used Inkscape to form my text in a circle and then cut it out with my MS circle cutter.

The pictures are of my younger son getting his ear pierced. His older brother has his done and he insisted through the tears. We had to have it done at a tattoo/piercing shop with an actual needle because he has extremely sensitive skin and needed special earrings.

Car Decals

I used the Car Decals cartridge to add these adorable little people to the back of my van!
