My Advent Calendar

I made this adorable advent calendar for Christmas. I won't lie - it took quite some time but I am happy with the way it turned out.

I used a scal file for the matchboxes. The Martha Stewart punch around the page snowflake punche for the borders. Winter Woodland cartridge for the tree and snowman up top which are both glittered with white flock and Marth Stewart Tinsel glitter for a snowy look.

Christmas Ornaments

Super duper easy! My kids made some for their teachers for gifts - that's how easy they are! After the ornaments were glittered we cut out some Christmas images with vinyl and put them on. They are so cute and make great gifts!

Pictures don't do these ornaments justice. This is a technique I learned on the Christmas with the Cricut website found HERE.

My New Black Cricut Expression

When I saw the new colored Cricut Expressions I just knew I had to have one - of course depending on if I could sell my current Cricut Expression, which I did! I love the black - it's just so classy and shiny and the pictures just don't do it justice at all! Don't mind the dust - we have our coal stove going and unless I stand next to it every moment ready with a cloth it's going to get a little dusty not to mention fingerprints.

The Waiting Place by Eileen Button

My review of The Waiting Place: Learning to Appreciate Life's Little Delays by Eileen Button. The way that the author describes her moments of waiting is amazing, some moments only lasting minutes while others lasting months or years. This is a book that from the first page you'll laugh with her and then cry with her and then laugh with her again. Most of us spend our life waiting for something to happen rather than enjoying what's right in front of us here and now. All 22 stories are told with such openness, honesty and unbridle emotion. I couldn't stop reading and completed the book in three and a half hours! BookSneeze® has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review.

First off I have to say that I randomly chose this book, I must say that because the surprising turn of evens that happened once I started to read it was almost unbelievable! As I began reading I was delighted with the humor that the author began with as she was describing herself. Eileen Button went on about revisiting her childhood home as an adult and I was thrilled to find it is very close to where I live. By chapter 4 I found that I was recognizing a lot of the people in the book and I had to pick up the phone and call my husband at work for verification and he did - the author is his 2nd cousin. Again I choose this book at random which made this completely crazy! I mean who choses a book without knowing anything about it and it ends up not only being written by their husbands 2nd cousin but is in some parts a detailed account of their extended family!
