So STINKIN Cute!

Wow! I haven't used Inkscape in so long I had to re-teach myself. This is a cute little ladybug that is on one of my 2 year old daughter's sand shovel's and I thought it was so cute! Not to mention that while some kids have imaginary friends she has imaginary LADYBUGS! That's all she talks about and you wouldn't believe the things these ladybugs can get into - LOL!!!

This is the replica of the ladybug on the shovel and the whole time I was designing it my daughter was squealing with joy!!! She cuts beautifully!!!

2011 Calendar

I use the top portion of the hanging calendar for photos of things that happened that month so pictures don't go on till the end of the month which is why June has an empty top. I ink around the edges of the top portion to match the calendar for that month and then once the pictures are on I add little captions so that when I look back years later I know what was going on.

Creative Post for June 22nd

The original idea for this card came from Tresa Black over at Fabulously Artsy! The cut file for SCAL is in the post below.

For this card I used the new Lacy Labels Cricut Lite Cart. Inked a background on the Brown piece with versamark. Inked all the edges and added a border stamp - I love acrylic stamps cause you can bend them to fit just about any shape! I used Twill Ribbon from SU! and stamped on it with a sentiment stamp. Also added some shimmer with my Clear Stardust pen.

2010 Teachers Gift - Magnetic Chalkboard

I am so excited about the teachers gifts I made this year! My oldest son's teacher is a huge Boston Red Sox fan. Firstly I must say that this was not my idea - these came from an oh so talented blogger Greenbean's Crafterole! For this project I used a piece of 12x12 galvanized metal I bought at Lowes that I painted with Chalkboard Paint (3 coats). It's dries very quickly so it didn't take long to complete this project. For the paper portion at the bottom I used a baseball border svg file I found over that the craftedge forums and used my mini pens and holder with my cricut and drew the border. For more info on the pen and marker holders please visit Chomas Creations. Then using the pens again I drew out the baseballs, cut around them, slapped a magnet on the back and voila! So cute!

*Tip - When using the galvanized metal sheet the edges can be sharp. After rounding the edges with my corner chomper I used some inksentials foil tape around all the edges and then painted. No more sharp edges!!!!

Raggedy Andy

Here is a SVG file for Raggedy Andy. Ain't he too cute?!?! There are 2 files - one with the yo-yo and one without. I haven't cut these yet but I see no problems with them when loaded into SCAL. All you have to do it open in inkscape and pull the pieces apart to cut by color.

Candy Corn Border SVG

I realize that Halloween is over BUT if you are anything like me you're not quite there yet in regards to scrapbooking. I made this candy corn border and thought I'd share it here with you. It is a svg so you'll need scal to cut it.

My Advent Calendar

I made this adorable advent calendar for Christmas. I won't lie - it took quite some time but I am happy with the way it turned out.

I used a scal file for the matchboxes. The Martha Stewart punch around the page snowflake punche for the borders. Winter Woodland cartridge for the tree and snowman up top which are both glittered with white flock and Marth Stewart Tinsel glitter for a snowy look.

Recessed Window Card & Tutorial

Someone on the Cricut mb posted this type of card they made after seeing it on the Splitcoaststampers website. I loved the card but didn't want to have to figure out the lines for the window everytime I wanted to make the card so I decided to make a .scut file for it. There is a page for scoring and for that I simply turned my cricut blade itself upside down in the housing and it scored the lines perfectly. I then used a .cut file from Okieladybug's blog for the Gusset Envelope so that the card would be protected. The card itself is a square 4.75 in. card and the envelope was cut at 5in. Below is a quick tutorial on how I put mine together. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
